all-star production of

'CHARLEY'S AUNT'

Reviews

Slough Observer:
It is Neil Mullarkey who steals this production as Lord Fancourt Babberley and 'Charley's Aunt'
. . . masterful

. . . has the audience eating out of his hand...

Everyone on stage played their part to make this one of the best comedies I've seen on stage for a long time.

Eastern Daily Press:
Another big bonus is that in casting Neil Mullarkey as Lord Fancourt Babberley...

this production has a comedy actor with a sense of humour to match the text, a wonderfully malleable face and, not least, an enviable sense of timing.

He carries off with honours a particularly hilarious visual gag when, while pouring tea ...
In common with many others last night, I laughed until the tears ran.

So Charley's Aunt triumphs again, a tonic of an evening from which one emerges "feeling good"!

Set in 1860's Oxford, this is an hilarious romp of mistaken identity and outrageous coincidence.

When students Jack Chesney and Charles Wykeham find themselves without the required chaperone to entertain two young ladies, the imminent arrival of Charley's wealthy aunt from Brazil ("where the nuts come from")creates the perfect excuse for a luncheon invitation.

But Charley's aunt is delayed and the rendezvous is under threat until fellow student and thespian Lord Fancourt Babberley ("Babs") is persuaded to impersonate the missing aunt.

Chaos and confusion reign when the real aunt arrives.
